FREE FISHING WEEKEND
The sun finally put in a most welcome appearance for the societies latest event making the free fishing weekend all the more enjoyable for everyone. Run as part of National Fishing Month the weekend was well attended by members and non members alike, the latter taking advantage of our half price ticket offer.
Juniors and beginners were invited to try fishing for the first time or pick up tips with our experienced coaches organised by Peter Fieldhouse of the Professional Anglers Association, everyone who attended caught fish and juniors received a national fishing month certificate and goody bag from Peter plus another goody bag and free membership card courtesy of the society.
In total thirty six new members joined over the weekend with the promise of further ticket sales from the many visitors who were impressed by the effort the organisers had put in to make the event so successful not to mention the fabulous facilities the society has to offer, messages of thanks and encouragement have already appeared on our facebook page and at least one tackle dealer has noted that there is “a friendly buzz about Fenton”.
Sincere thanks for the work put in by officials and members go to :

The events team are now taking a short but well earned break before the Midland game fair at Weston Park in September where the society will have a stand in the fishing village, there is also a possibility of a slot at a show at Uttoxeter in October to promote game fishing on the societies many stretches of rivers, watch this space for more information and keep in touch with facebook for all the latest developments and catch reports.
Tight lines and best fishes from all at Fenton & District A.S.
