The society’s big promotional weekend got off to a somewhat dubious start with club officials inadvertently appearing on national television at Cudmore, much to the amusement of certain sections of the membership. The broad shouldered duo carried on regardless and went on to make some very useful contacts in the freebie department in support of our as yet undeclared event at Dilhorne.
Next stop was the carnival at Dilhorne recreation ground where we talked with the organisers who agreed to advertise on our behalf and get involved with any future events, we also expressed an interest in attending the carnival next summer.
Sunday saw our new advertising kit get it’s first airing of the year at St Margarets summer fayre at Draycott. Our display attracted lots of attention as usual with the mayor and mayoress of Cheadle among our visitors, prospective members were numerous and several landowners talked to us about the possibilities for fishing on their land.
Next on the tour is Longton harriers football ground at Cellarhead on Saturday 23rd July. Feel free to come along and support us and see just how impressive our advertising roadshow really is, you may even want to join the promotion team.
As always the usual thanks go to the usual people for giving up yet another weekend on behalf of the society.
There’s more exciting news to come later in the year including Stan’s appearance on the great British bake off and Andy on strictly come dancing.
Stay tuned for the next installment when we let the fish out of the bag.
